Engine troubleshooting

SYMPTOM
Starter does not start when switched
on
Starter is working but not enough to
start the engine
The starter is working properly, but the
engine does not start
Engine speed is irregular
Engine

FAULT TRACING

CAUSE
No clutch depressed
Battery is discharged
Defective switch
Low battery capacity
Poor grounding
Oil too dense
Air in the fuel system
Fuel filter plugged
No fuel supply
Glow plug disconnected or
not working
Air in the fuel system
Incorrectly set injection
Leak in the fuel lines
Poor fuel injection
Defective injection pump
Faulty valve clearance
Incorrect idle setting
Incorrectly set injection
Lack of fuel
Incorrectly set injection
Choked engine due to lack
of oil,
incorrect oil or lack of
coolant
CORRECTIVE MEASSURE
Depress the Clutch
Recharge or replace the
battery
Contact repair service
Recharge the battery
Clean the ground wire and
tighten
Drain and change oil
Bleed the system
Clean or replace both filters
Fill the tank or turn the tap
