MAKING THE ESPRESSO MACHINE READY FOR OPERATION

Before first use
Remove all packaging and promotional materials. For shipping, the drip tray, storage
tray (behind the drip tray) and the water tank are installed correctly. The drip tray and
storage tray are mounted at the bottom of the housing and may be pulled out to the
front. However, the tool storage tray is hidden behind the drip tray. You must pull out
the drip tray first. The water tank is mounted at the rear of the appliance and can be
pulled upwards and out. The filter baskets (single-walled filter basket, double-walled fil-
ter basket), portafilter, milk jug, and tamper are fixed within the packaging. Ensure you
have found all parts and accessories before discarding the packaging. Check, whether
all parts are undamaged. We recommend to store the cleaning tools and filter baskets
not in use within the storage tray. This way these accessories will not get lost. Do not
immerse the housing, power cord or power plug in water or any other liquid.
1. The water tank is located at the back of the machine. At the rear rim of the water
tank, pull the silver-grey lid upwards for opening the water tank. Then grasp the
water tank at the handle and lift it upwards and out. Remove the water filter lying
within the water tank. Take it out, before rinsing the water tank.
2. Rinse the filter baskets, portafilter, tamper, and milk jug using some warm dish water.
Adhere to the hints in chapter >Care and Cleaning<.
