Note:
If the machine is run continuously for 30 minutes, allow the machine to cool for 5
minutes before each use. Always start with fresh, cold milk.
There are two phases to texturing milk. The first is stretching the milk to aerate it and the
second is swirling the milk to make it silky smooth. These two operations should blend
into one.
1. Ensure that the water tank is filled with a sufficient amount of water (at least 250 ml,
MIN marking). If required, switch on the appliance by pressing the POWER button.
2. For texturing milk, fill the jug just below the V at the bottom of the spout with fresh,
cold milk. At a minimum, there should be enough milk to cover the steam wand up
to at least 2 cm to prevent the milk from splashing out.
TIP:
It may take a few seconds until steam appears. A pumping noise will be heard
during steam generation. This is normal.
Fat-reduced milk will give the best results. However, different brands and types of milk
and milk alternatives will texture differently. Additionally, the freshness of the milk will
have high influence.
Note:
The auto-purge function ensures the coffee will not be burnt by the initial water flow
from the Thermocoil being too hot after steam generation. The water is automatically
released internally into the drip tray ensuring that the Thermocoil is at optimal tempe-
rature for extracting espresso. Your espresso will always be extracted at the optimal
temperature ensuring only the best flavours are extracted. However, according to the
auto-purge function, a short flow of steam could escape from the group head after
steam generation.
3. Before inserting the steam wand into the milk, it is recommended to purge the steam
wand. For this, first ensure that the steam wand points to the drip tray. Then turn the
control dial to the right steam position. The STEAM indicator will flash, indicating
that the Thermocoil is heated for producing steam.
4. After some steam is given off, pause the steam by returning the control dial back to
the central standby position. This will avoid the milk splashing out of the jug. The
steam will pause for some seconds. Then a short steam flow will escape from the
group head, due to the auto-purge function.
5. Insert the steam tip 1-2cm below the surface of the milk close to the right hand side
of the jug at the 3 o'clock position. Turn the control dial to the right steam position
again to texture the milk.
6. Keep the steam wand tip just under the surface until the milk is spinning, producing
a vortex (whirlpool effect).
