• Carefully remove all coffee powder spilled on the rim of the portafilter.
The rim of the portafilter must be completely clean to ensure a leak-free
seal at the group head, thus avoiding that steam and hot water escapes
from the group head.
• The remaining humidity of the coffee grinds after brewing is a normal
outcome of the brewing technique and not the result of any malfunction.
• This appliance is for household use only and NOT intended for use in
moving vehicles. Always keep the appliance where it is dry, frost-free,
and clean, and where young children cannot reach it. Operate and store
the appliance, where it is protected against humidity, moisture and inad-
missible strain. Do not operate or store the appliance outdoors.
• Check the entire appliance regularly for proper operation—especially the
power cord. Do not operate the appliance, when the appliance or any
part of it is likely to be damaged or leaking, or has been subject to inad-
missible strain (e.g. overheating, mechanical or electric shock, moisture in
the housing). The appliance or its parts are likely to be damaged, if the
appliance is not working properly. Do not use the appliance any more
when water is accumulating under the appliance. In this case, immedia-
tely unplug the appliance and get in contact with an authorized service
centre for examination and/or repair.
• Any use of accessories, attachments, tools, or spare parts that are not
recommended by the manufacturer or damaged in any way may result
in injuries to persons and/or damage.
• Always ensure that you have assembled the appliance completely and
correctly according to the instructions in this booklet before connecting
the appliance to the power supply and operating the appliance. Do not
use violence to avoid damage. Before each use, always ensure that you
have assembled and locked the portafilter correctly at the group head.
The appliance generates high pressure! Always ensure to turn the
control dial back to the central standby position, before removing the
portafilter.
• Operate the appliance on a well accessible, stable, level, dry, and suita-
ble large table or counter that is resistant against heat and moisture. Do
not operate the appliance in wet or moist areas. Do not place the appli-
