Two- and three-carburetter

The three jet adjusting nuts are marked
1, 2
and
3,
and when t h e jet control
levers force the jet head up against the nuts
1, 2
and
3,
t h e carburetters are set for
normal running.
If
nut No.
3,
f o r example, i s screwed downwards, and the jet
control lever is not altered t o correspond, the Nos. I and
2
jets w i l l only rise t o the
same extent as No.
3,
and the effect o f the adjustment,
if
so carried out, w i l l only
be t o enrich all the three carburetters instead of, say, N o .
3
only.
It
is necessary t o
remove t h e pins from the front and rear carburetters and alter the position o f t h e
yoke ends, so that the pins which couple them t o the jet control levers pass through
freely.
It
is possible w i t h three carburetters t o effect changes i n adjustment, and
it is a matter that should n o t be lightly undertaken
if
the operator has not had
much experience.
O t h e r points that may require adjustment f r o m t i m e t o time are the brakes,
which have already been dealt with, and the clutch (when fitted), which w i l l be
dealt w i t h under its o w n heading, b u t t h e following notes w i l l indicate the nature
o f the adjustments which are carried o u t w i t h the aid of a spanner and screwdriver.
