various phases o f gear selection engagement, starting w i t h neutral,
followed by selection o f first gear, first gear i n operation, and
then second gear selected, whilst first gear is operating and
finishing in t h e intermediate position when the pedal is pushed
d o w n preparatory t o engaging second gear.
These series of illustrations clearly show the action of the
busbar during t h e gear-changing operations, the same lettering
has been followed throughout and the parts lettered are as
follows :-

The action of the selector spring A forces operating s t r u t S
towards t h e busbar and the operating s t r u t carries a t h r o w o u t
spring t o disengage the strut, when i t is n o t selected.
I t w i l l
be noted that when the busbar rises, the pull r o d and table take
u p a new position.
