ENGINE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
ENGINE REMOVAL
Place the motorcycle on its center stand.
Remove the seat and raise the fuel tank.
Remove the left and right frame side covers.
Drain the engine oil (page 2·3) and the coolant
(page 6·3).
Remove the rear wheel (page 16·3).
Remove the radiator (page 6·6).
Remove the carburetor (page 4·3).
Remove the exhaust chamber mount bolt.
Remove the exhaust muffler mount bolts and joint
nuts.
Loosen the exhaust pipe clamp bolts and remove
the exhaust mufflers.
Disconnect the wire couplers for the alternator, oil
pres. s ure switch, and pulse generator.
Remove the wire clamp
Disconnect the spark plug caps.
Remove the bolt attaching the ground cable to the
crankcase and disconnect the ground cable.
