Installation

7.1 General notes on installation

The headlight flasher sensor is able to evaluate the
pulse sequences of lighting equipment or other DC
consumers via its inductive signal pick-up. The pulse
sequence must consist of switched direct current.
Therefore, the type of control and special pulsed
power supply used by xenon headlights makes them
somewhat unsuitable for this application. Add-
itionally, LED lighting in modern vehicles is usually
operated by means of a modulated current which can
have a negative effect on the function of the headlight
flasher sensor. For this reason, conventional bulb
lights such as the kinds used for H7 high-beam head-
lights, front and rear fog lamps or reversing lights are
preferable.
The headlight flasher sensor is battery-operated,
which means that no electrical wires are required to
supply the device with power. All that is required is
for the wire leading to the relevant lamp in one of the
lights to be placed around the sensor in a small loop
or twisted around it a few times. In the case of higher
currents, however, not even this is required - the
