Teaching in HomeMatic
components
In order to enable communication between
HomeMatic components, the devices have to be
taught in to one another. This can be done either
directly between one device and another or
indirectly using a HomeMatic central control unit.
The headlight flasher sensor has two channels, each
of which can have an individual flashing sequence
set for it (see Section 8).
• Channel 1 has an ON time of 1 second for
controlling a garage door (pushbutton).
• Channel 2 has an ON time of 3 minutes,
e.g. for switching exterior lights on and off.
The ON time of the channels can only be
changed using the configuration options
available on the HomeMatic Web UI.
When HomeMatic components are taught in for
channel 1, authentication by means of AES
encryption is activated. When devices are taught in
for channel 2, authentication does not take place.
