Hard drives or SSDs
A hard disk drive (HDD), is a data storage device used for storing and retrieving digital information using one or more rigid rapidly
rotating disks coated with magnetic material. A solid-state drive (SSD), is a solid-state storage device that uses integrated circuit
assemblies as memory to store data persistently. SSDs have no moving components. SSDs are typically more resistant to physical
shock, run silently, have lower access time, and less latency.
Yoursystem supports up to two 2.5-inch SAS or SATAor PCIe SSDs or SAS or SATAhard drives and four 1.8-inch SATASSDs. The
hard drives or SSDs are supplied in special hot-swappable drive carriers that fit in the drive bays and these drives connect to the
system board through the hard drive backplane board.
NOTE: Mixing of SSD or SAS or SATA hard drives is not supported.

Hard drive or SSD installation guidelines
For single hard drive configuration, a hard drive blank must beinstalled in theother drive baytomaintain propercooling airflow.
