RADWIN 2000 Considerations

Figure H-5: Radio Frame Pattern
Five RFP types (A to E) are available. The RFP is selected depending on the
type of the radio products, services and channel bandwidth used by the
complete system.
Note
Select the RFP that gives you the Best Fit for the system services and select
the Channel Bandwidth accordingly.
The table below describes the efficiency of the WinLink™ 1000 air interface
according to the RFP type, radio products mix, services and channel band-
width. The table may be viewed in the RADWIN Manager and in the Link
Budget Calculator and varies according to the product used.

RADWIN 2000 Considerations
RADWIN 2000 radios use a Radio Frame Pattern of 1250 milliseconds
regardless of HSS. Hence the RADWIN 2000 performance, as calculated
with the Link Budget Calculator, does not "care" if the radios operate in HSS
mode or not.
WinLink™ 1000 Considerations
When WinLink™ 1000 radios are collocated with RADWIN 2000 radios using
HSS, all radios must use a Radio Frame Pattern (RFP) of 1250 milliseconds.
WinLink™ 1000 User Manual
RFP type E should be used if and only if RADWIN 2000 links are part
of the HSS installation.
The RFP must be the same for each link within the collocated system.
