Unfinalizing a CD-RW (UNFINALIZE)
Unfinalization returns a finalized CD-RW to the status before finalization so that additional recording or rewriting
is possible. Unfinalization cannot be applied to the CD-R discs.
If a disc containing the recording of text data (disc and track titles, etc.) recorded with another CD recorder or
PC is unfinalized on this system, the text data will be erased from the disc and can never be restored again.
Select the "CDR" input. Be sure to put the CD recorder in stop mode.
1 Load the CD-RW to be unfinalized in the CD recorder.
2 Press the ERASE key to select "Unfinalize Set?".
3 Press the SET key.
4 Press the ENTER key to start unfinalization.
Never unplug the power cord during unfinalization.
If the power supply is interrupted by a power failure
or unplugging the power cord during unfinalization,
the data may be destroyed and become unplayable.
The CD recorder of this system cannot unfinalize DAO*-recorded CD-R/RW discs recorded on a PC or recorder compatible with
* DAO (Disc At Once) .............................................. One of the recording formats, with which all data are written in batch in
÷ Ensure that the disc has no scratch or dirt on the surface.
÷ The "FINALIZED CD-RW" indicator should light. If the "CD-
RW" indicator lights, the disc is not a finalized disc.
Each press switches alternately.

÷ To abort unfinalization, press the ERASE key or 7 STOP key.

÷ Do not perform any other operation during unfinalization.
÷ The time until the unfinalization completes is displayed.
÷ When unfinalization completes, "Complete" is displayed.
