6. When finished, turn off the UV light by pushing in the white door peg. Push the
transilluminator back into the imager. Alternatively, push the transilluminator back
into the imager and close the door, which automatically pushes the white door peg
back into place.
Ensure the transilluminator surface is cool. Saturate a clean soft cloth or paper towel
with cleaning solution (e.g., general purpose cleaner, isopropanol or 70% ethanol).
Wipe the surface of the transilluminator.
Note To ensure uniform illumination, replace all six UV transilluminator bulbs, even
if only one bulb fails.
1. Shut down the imager and unplug the power cord.
2. Open the imager door and completely slide out the transilluminator. Ensure the
transilluminator is cool to touch.
3. Loosen the four thumbscrews on the transilluminator coverplate.
4. Lift the coverplate to expose the bulbs. Use caution to avoid damaging the
electrical cord.
5. Remove the transilluminator bulbs by rotating ~90° counterclockwise until the
pins align with the bulb socket. A click is heard when the bulb pins are aligned.
Lift the bulb up and out of the socket.
6. Insert the new transilluminator bulbs by sliding pins into the bulb socket and
rotating ~90° clockwise. A click will be heard when the bulb pins are set.
7. Repeat Steps 5 and 6 for the remaining five bulbs.
8. Replace all necessary components of the transilluminator and avoid damaging
the electrical cord. Replace and hand tighten the four thumbscrews.
9. Push the transilluminator back into the imager.
10. Plug the imager power cord back in and turn the system power on.
