5.1.21 EMC Immunity

To document immunity against electrical interference, the following immunity tests have been made on a system consisting
of a frequency converter, a screened/armoured control cable and a control box with potentiometer, screened/armoured

motor cable, screened/armoured brake cable and an LCP 2 with a cable.
The tests were performed in accordance with the following
basic standards:
EN 61000-4-4 (IEC 61000-4-4): Burst transients Simulation of interference brought about by switching with
contactors, relays, or similar devices.
EN 61000-4-5 (IEC 61000-4-5): Surge transients Simulation of transients brought about, for example, by lightning
that strikes near installations.
EN 61000-4-2 (IEC 61000-4-2): Electrostatic discharges (ESD) Simulation of electrostatic discharges from human
beings.
EN 61000-4-3(IEC 61000-4-3): Incoming electromagnetic field radiation, amplitude modulated Simulation of the
effects of radar and radio broadcast devices as well as mobile communication devices.
VDE 0160 class W2 test pulse: Mains transients Simulation of high-energy transients generated by breaks in
master fuses, connection to phase advancer batteries and the like.
EN 61000-4-6 (IEC 61000-4-6): RF common mode Simulation of the effect from radio-transmitting equipment
connected to connection cables.
