Installing Music-on-Hold Access

Requirements
Figure 4-84 shows the connections for the Music-on-Hold feature when loudspeaker
equipment is FCC registered. Figure 4-85 shows the connections for the Music-on-Hold
feature when loudspeaker equipment is not FCC registered.
The connections shown in Figures 4-84 and 4-85 and the procedures provided are used when
the music source is not located in the equipment room. If the music source is located in the
equipment room, the connections do not have to be routed through the cross-connect field.
Access to the music source is provided by an information outlet. Two leads (T and R)
connect the information outlet to the cross-connect field. If the music source is FCC
registered, the switch side of the cross-connect field is connected directly to the switch
cabinet. If the music source is not FCC registered, the switch side of the cross-connect field
is connected to a 36A voice coupler. The coupler is mounted in the auxiliary cabinet, if
provided.
Two leads (T, R) connect the coupler or switch side of the cross-connect field to a TN763
Auxiliary Trunk circuit pack located in a port carrier. A TN763 circuit pack contains a
maximum of four ports.
Note: If auxiliary cabinet is not provided, a connectorized wiring block must be locally
engineered to replace the auxiliary cabinet's ED-1E443-10 Intra-Connection Panel.
