4-Pair Station Cable Circuits
To determine the size of station cables containing 4-pair circuits, determine the number of
information outlets served by the equipment room cross-connect field or satellite location.
Multiply this number by 4 (see Note).
Note: This formula may not compensate for the unused 25th pair in all cases. If not,
you must allow for it.
Using the minimum size cable requirement, select a cable size that is rounded up to the next
highest available cable bundle size.
STATION WIRING AND ASSOCIATED HARDWARE INSTALLATION
Installing the Station Cables
Station labels shown in Figure 2-62 must be installed on both ends of the 25-pair station
cables. These labels are provided with the 201A cable/jack station labels (Comcode 103 969
994). These labels must match the previously installed connector module labels at the
equipment room cross-connect field. For example, if the cable plugs into a connecting unit
with jacks-labeled 1 through 6, the cable label must be numbered 1 through 6.
Figure 2-62. 25-Pair Station Cable Labels
Install the station cables between the equipment room cross-connect field and the site,
satellite, or adapter locations. B25A cables (male ends) are installed in the connector
modules at the equipment room (Figure 2-54). The B25A cables are run to the adapter
locations or connect to the multiple 25-pair staggered-finger station cables (see Figure 2-63).
The staggered-finger station cables are run to the site, satellite, or adapter locations.
Figure 2-64 shows the labeling scheme for 4-pair circuits run from the equipment room to
the information outlets. The labeling scheme for 3-pair circuits run from the cross-connect
field to satellite locations is discussed under Installing Z100-Type Hardware at
Satellite Locations.
