Cable Access Panel Connections—Terminals Used for Emergency Failure Transfer and as
Normal Extensions

At first cable access panel, run and connect pair of wires between PWR terminals
on EM XR terminal row to EM TRANS POWER terminal (see Figure 2-89).
8.
Remove T and R straps for each CO trunk to be used for emergency transfer.
9.
Run and connect CO trunk leads on CABINET CABLES side to TC terminals on
EM XR terminal row for each trunk.
10.
Run and connect CO trunk circuit leads on DISTRIBUTION CABLES side to TK
terminals on EM XR terminal row for each trunk.
11.
At each emergency transfer voice terminal appearance (see Figure 2-89), remove T
and R straps.
12.
Run and connect voice terminal leads on DISTRIBUTION CABLES side to ST
terminals on EM XR terminal row for each terminal.
13.
Run and connect voice terminal leads on CABINET CABLES side to LC terminals
on EM XR terminal row for each terminal.
14.
Remove third pair straps for each emergency appearance (see Note).
Note: The third pair leads appear on pairs 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, or 24.
15.
If more emergency transfer terminals are to be installed, run and connect two
wires from PWR terminals on next cable access panel to EM TRANS POWER
terminals on first cable access panel and repeat from step 8.
16.
Identify carrier slots for TN742 or TN769 analog line circuit packs used for
emergency transfer terminals.
17.
Run and connect the switch cables from each emergency transfer terminal
connector appearance on CABINET CABLES side of cable access panel to
appropriate carrier slots.
18.
Run and connect B25A cables from each emergency transfer terminal connector
appearance on DISTRIBUTION SIDE of cable access panel to the switch side of the
cross-connect field.
