Introduction

Each option in the main BIOS Setup menu is described in this chapter.
The main BIOS Setup menu page features two main frames. The left frame displays
all the options that can be configured. Grayed-out options cannot be configured,
whereas options that are presented in blue can be configured. The right frame dis-
plays the key legend. Above the key legend is an area reserved for text. When
selected, options are highlighted in white and may have an accompanying text mes-
sage.

List Box

The list box appears only in the opening page. The box lists the configurable items in
the menu selected.
5.1.3

Sub-Menus

A right pointer symbol (u) is displayed at the left of certain items. This pointer indi-
cates that the item has a sub-menu. Sub-menus contain additional options for a n
item parameter. To access a sub-menu, move the highlight to the item and press
<Enter>. Use the legend keys to enter values and move from item to item within a
sub-menu. Use the <Esc> key to return to the main menu.
Take some time to familiarize yourself with the legend keys and their corresponding
functions. Practice navigating through the various menus and submenus. While mov-
ing around the BIOS Setup program, note that explanations appear in the Item Spe-
cific Help window located to the right of each menu. This window displays the help
text for the currently highlighted field.
