STARTER
A magnetolstart switch,
located
on
the
subpanel
to the
left
of the
pilot's
control column,
incorporates
R(right),
L(left)
and
BOTH
magneto
positions in
addition
to the
normal
OFF
and
START positions.
After activation of the starter
the
spring-loaded switch returns to the
BOTH position
when released.
Battery
switch and alternator switch are
grouped on the subpanel to the
right
of the
pilot's
control
column.
The
warning
light placarded
STARTER
ENGAGED (M-
2278
and after) illuminates
whenever
electrical
power is
being
supplied to
the
starter.
If
the
light remains illuminated
after starting,
the
starter relay
has
remained engaged, and
loss
of
electrical
power
and
possible
equipment damage
will eventually
result.
Turn
the
Battery
Switch
and
Alternator
Switch
OFF.
If in flight, land
as soon as
practical. If
the
light does
not
illuminate
during starting, the
indicator
system
is inoperative
and the ammeter must be
monitored to ensure
that
the starter
does
not
remain
energized after releasing the magneto/start switch.

91/96 (Blue)
grade aviation gasoline.
