Chapter 11: Troubleshooting

This chapter describes known troubleshooting issues that customers might encounter while
performing installation, configuration, and maintenance.
Firmware is corrupted
Condition
Firmware is corrupted so you must restore firmware to its original state.
Cause
Firmware corruption can occur because of a power outage when the device is upgraded, or
because of a corrupt system file or an invalid checksum file.
Solution
Use the boot recovery procedure to clear the device and restore Avaya Vantage
settings.
Use the boot recovery menu options only when the device does not boot up properly for some
reason. The boot recovery menu provides you options to delete all stored data or swap the
boot banks on the device and try to bring up the Android operating system again.
1. Connect an external USB keyboard to the device.
If the keyboard is USB Type-A, then you require a USB Type-A to Type-C adapter to
connect to the USB Type-C port on the K165 or K175 device.
2. Reboot the device.
3. Press and hold Volume Up.

You can navigate within the Recovery menu using the following buttons:
• To navigate between menu options, press Volume Up or Volume Down.
• To select the menu option, press and hold Volume Up or Volume Down.
4. Tap Enter BRM to navigate to Avaya Vantage
5. Enter the administrator password using the external USB keyboard connected to the
device.
