6.1.20 spt-switch-threshold

Syntax

undo spt-switch-threshold [ group-policy acl-number ]
View
PIM view
Parameter
traffic-rate: Multicast traffic rate in kbps, ranging from 0 to 65,535. When it takes a
non-zero value, RPT does not switch to SPT.
infinity: Never switches to the SPT.
acl-number: Basic ACL number, ranging from 2000 to 2999. It defines a group range
within which the rate of multicast packets is limited.
Description
Use the spt-switch-threshold command to configure the threshold for switching from
RPT to source SPT.
Use the undo spt-switch-threshold command to restore the default threshold for
switching from RPT to source SPT.
By default, a RPT-to-SPT switch occurs once the device receives the first multicast
packet.
If you do not specify an ACL number, the threshold applies to all multicast groups.
Note:
When you execute the spt-switch-threshold command on anS3600 Ethernet switch,
the traffic-rate argument can only be set to 0. That is, the threshold can be set to 0 or
infinity.
With the threshold set to 0, the last hop switch switches to SPT once it receives the
first multicast packet.
With the threshold set to infinity, the last hop switch never switches to SPT.
Example
# Configure the last hop switch to switch to SPT upon receipt of the first multicast
packet.
