PCV Collar
Replacement
1. Remove the positive Crankcase ventilation (PCV)
valve (see page 11-52).
2. Remove the rear cylinder head cover, refer to the
1997 NSX Service Manual, P/N 61SL006 (see page
6-24).
3. Remove the bolts (A) securing the breather cover
(B), then remove the breather cover.
NOTE: Be careful not to damage the cylinder head
cover mating surfaces.
4. Raise the PCV collar locknut tab (A) from the PCV
collar groove (B).

5. Remove the PCV collar locknut, then remove the
PCV collar.
6. Remove any old liquid gasket from the cylinder
head cover mating surfaces, bolts, and bolt holes.
7. Clean and dry the cylinder head cover mating sur-
faces, bolts, and bolt holes.
8. Install the new PCV collar (A) with a new O-ring.
NOTE:
• Be careful not to damage the O-ring.
• Turn and attach the PCV collar groove (B) to the
timing belt side as shown.
