5. Click the Update Firmware button ONLY when an update to the DSP firmware is needed and is
requested by NOV CTES. When the button is clicked, the resulting dialog requires a password to
proceed. When a password is provided, OrionNET communicates with the DSP firmware to
update it.
6. Select, from the menu bar, File > Save.

Click the Save toolbar icon.
To add an ASCII depth data-stream if an alternate depth source is required
1. Right-click the Default data source and select Add Data Source.
2. Input a Data source name that best describes the purpose of the data source.
This is the second of the two Windows devices (ports) created in Step 4. of Connecting Cables in the Argus
TubeSpec Setup chapter of this document.
3. Select ASCII via Serial from the dropdown associated with the Data source type field and 
click OK.
4. Select the settings required by any individual device supplying the ASCII depth serial stream. For
example, select the Bits per second at 9600 and the Stream separator as CR + LF.
5. Add a depth channel to this data source.
6. Set the channel type as CT Depth; select ft as the System units; ensure that the Position is set 
at 1.
To accurately relate measurements from the Argus TubeSpec measuring head to a specific location on the
coiled tubing string, the user must take into account the distance between the measuring head and the
well's zero-depth measurement location. This distance must be added to the standard well-depth measure-
ment in order to locate a specific point (from the downhole, free end of the coiled tubing) where a Tube-
Spec measurement was made.
