4. Open the oiler assemblies and remove the blue tubing-scrapers and the scraper springs from the
housings (see Step e. of the process Altering the TubeSpec to Accommodate an Alternate Tubing
Size).
5. Each scraper has a scarf-cut that allows it to be split and slipped on the tubing. Place one of the
scrapers on the tubing 18" in front of the mounting cradle; place the other scraper close to the level
wind.
6. Wrap the spring around the blue scraper in the groove designed to keep the spring in place (scraper
ring). Pull the spring around the scraper and hook the end-loops together.
Alternately, pull the spring around the tubing and hook the end-loops together. Then, stretch the
spring over the scraper
Pinching of fingers and/or bodily injury (from the spring flying free) can occur. Safety glasses
should be worn to protect the eyes.
7. Clamp one oiler assembly around the tubing and the scraper ring.
a. Ensure that the sponge is in the oiler housing
