4. Click the Controller Settings button to control the tubing's lubrication. The Argus Controller Settings
dialog appears.
a. Select the Argus Depth Channel from the dropdown.
Setting the Argus Depth Channel determines the depth channel used by the TubeSpec to control
lubrication. The default is Depth(Argus) from the list of channels in the dropdown. When an alter-
nate depth channel is present and selected, the Encoder Gain (see below) is greyed out, so it is
therefore not available to the user.
The user has no direct access to Depth in the Argus configuration. However, the user can zero or otherwise set
Depth in the Viewer display screen discussed in Selecting and Editing Channels for Control Association in the
"Setting Up and Using the OrionNET Viewer" chapter of the
b. Input Encoder Gain to set the scale factor for the depth channel coming from the Tubespec con-
trol box; then click Set to send information to the controller.
c. Input Speed Threshold to determine at what speed the tubing is lubricated. (The number must be
greater than zero and will equal the minimum speed at which lubrication starts.) Click Set to send
information to the controller.
d. Input Timeout to set the amount of time the lubrication continues after the tubing stops moving.
The purpose of this setting is to prevent the directional control coils from switching on and off
intermittently when the speed threshold is approached. Click Set to send information to the con-
troller.
Each field's Set button must be clicked separately.
e. Click Load to request all current settings in the controller and to display them in their respective
fields.
Communication must be established before attempting to use the Set or Load button.
