REPLACE THE WHEEL CYLINDER

WARNING
This section is one section of a complete service
manual. Before starting any procedure, read all
warnings and instructions that are located in the
Service Guidelines chapter.

Front Disc Body Assembly

1: Raise the front wheel off of the ground and support with jack
stands.
2: Remove the nuts holding the wheel to the hub and push the
wheel out of the way.
3: Remove the brake line from the brake body.
4: Remove the two nuts holding the brake body to the mounting
bracket and remove the brake body from the vehicle. Discard the
nuts.
5: Inspect the brake rotor and pads. Refer to Inspect the Service
Brake section for information regarding inspecting the brake rotor.
6: Install the new brake body assembly in reverse order.
• Use teflon tape thread sealant on the brake hose adaptor
fitting.
• Use new nuts on the brake body bolts.
• Torque the brake body bolts per torque listed in the Hardware
Torque table at the end of this section.
• Refer to Tires/Wheels section for wheel nut torque.
7: Bleed the brakes. Refer to Bleed the Brakes section for information regarding bleeding the brakes.
8: Reconnect the main positive and negative cables at the batteries.
9: Lower the wheel to the ground.
10: Remove the blocks from behind the wheels.
11: Test drive the vehicle.

Rear Disc Brake Body Assembly

1: Raise the wheel off of the ground and support
with jack stands.
2: Remove the tire/wheel assembly. Refer to Tires
and Wheels section for information on removing
the tire and wheel assembly.
3: Thoroughly clean the area around the brake
body.
4: Remove the brake body bolts and discard the
lock nuts.
5: Inspect the brake rotor and pads. Refer to
Inspect the Service Brake section for information
regarding inspecting the brake rotor.
6: Disconnect the brake hose from the brake body.
7: Install the new brake body assembly in reverse
order.
• Use teflon tape thread sealant on the brake
hose fitting.
• Use new nuts on the brake body bolts.
• Torque the brake body bolts per torque listed
in the Hardware Torque table at the end of this section.
8: Bleed the brakes. Refer to Bleed the Brakes section for information regarding bleeding the brakes.
9: Reconnect the main positive and negative cables at the batteries.
10: Lower the wheel to the ground.
11: Remove the blocks from behind the wheels.
12: Test drive the vehicle.
