WARNING
This section is one section of a complete service
manual. Before starting any procedure, read all
warnings and instructions that are located in the
Service Guidelines chapter.
Replace Rotor
1: Remove the brake assembly from the motor.
2: Remove the center retaining bolt and slide the rotor off of the shaft.
Note: If the rotor does not come off easily, you can use a pry bar inserted
between the mounting bracket and brake hub.
3: Thoroughly clean the motor shaft, key, retaining bolt, and internal
threads in the motor shaft.
4: Install the rotor using thread locking compound part number 94-
430-07 on the retaining bolt. Torque the bolt to per torque listed in
the Hardware Torque table at the end of this section.
5: Install the brake assembly.
6: Reconnect the battery and remove the blocks from the wheel.

Adjust

Primary Adjustment
1: Make sure the key-switch is in the "OFF" position.
2: Place the directional control switch in the center "OFF" position. Release
the parking brake.
3: Rotate the knob on the end of the park brake handle until the brake holds
firm when applied.
Secondary Adjustment
Note: The secondary adjustment only needs to be performed if the primary
adjustment fails to provide adequate brake holding power.
4: Release the parking brake.
5: Rotate the primary adjustment knob until the brake is as loose as possible.
6: Loosen the cable clevis jam nut at the parking brake caliper.
7: Remove the clevis pin and discard the cotter pin.
8: By hand, push the brake arm to apply the park brake
and adjust the clevis so that the clevis pin can be
inserted while the cable is taught.
9: Loosen the clevis one turn, reinstall the clevis pin
using a new cotter pin.
10: Tighten the clevis jam nut.
11: Perform the primary adjustment procedure above.
12: Reconnect the battery and remove the blocks from the
wheel.
