Electrical Shock Hazard
Disconnect power before servicing.
Replace all parts and panels before
operating.
Failure to do so can result in death or
electrical shock.
1.
Remove the agitator. (see page 4-23).
2.
Spread the drive block
(see page 4-32, step 2).
3.
Remove the transmission (see page 4-52).
4.
Rotate the cam counter-clockwise to
compress the spring and release the brake.

5.
There is a rubber gasket around the outside
of the brake drum that is used to deaden the
sound of the brake assembly that must be in
place for reassembly.

6.
Pull the brake assembly out of the drum and
out of the tub support.
7.
If need be: Remove the three - 7/16 inch
bolts that secure the brake drum to the
washer and remove it.
