Electrical Shock Hazard
Disconnect power before servicing.
Replace all parts and panels before
operating.
Failure to do so can result in death or
electrical shock.
1. Remove entire cabinet (see page 4-17).
2. Remove the agitator (see page 4-23).
3. Remove the tub ring (see page 4-24).
4. Remove the spanner nut from the center
post with a spanner wrench.

5. Tap the spanner wrench counterclockwise
to loosen the spanner nut. Be sure to use a
rubber mallet to avoid damage to the basket
while tapping the spanner wrench.

6. Removal of the basket drive assembly
without removal of the spin basket may
require spreading the drive block. Place
a wide flat blade screwdriver into the slot
of the drive block and tap with a mallet to
release the drive block from the spin tube
(see page 4-32).
7. If the basket is not easily lifted out, or will
not loosen by rocking the basket downward
from side to side, place the spanner wrench
back over the drive block, reinstall the
spanner nut hand tight, secure the washer
by bracing your feet on the base of the
washer.
8. Lift up with a jerking motion on the spanner
wrench to remove the basket and drive
block from the washer.
