The ON/OFF switch is located at the rear of the unit, along with the various communication
connections. The depressed side of the rocker switch is the enabled function. With the "I"
depressed the system is ON. With the "O" depressed the unit is OFF.
The basic D-40 printer consists of the following major components:
Card input hopper
Card transport mechanism
Card cleaning mechanism
An optional magnetic encoder
An optional SmartCard programming station
Flipper mechanism
Thermal printer
Card output hopper
Reject tray
Forty (40) character each two (2) line LCD display
Four button control switch panel
Four serial 9 pin female PORT Communication connectors
Network port connector
AT style keyboard and connector
An Imagemaster™ D-40 configuration may also include a PC acting as a host or source of
the data used to produce cards.
The following brief descriptions are presented in the order of card movement through the unit.

1-4 Input Hopper

The INPUT HOPPER accepts CR-80 cards, with the capacity to hold at least 500 blank cards
(amount depending on thickness). The base of the hopper contains a Card Picker Assembly.

1.5: Card Transport System:

The CARD TRANSPORT SYSTEM consists of transport motors, a series of sprockets and
belts, and rubber rollers that will move the card in either direction as required.
General Description
Fingers should never be placed into the hopper when the system is
in operation. Fingers can be injured by this mechanism when it is
pushing a card out of the hopper and into the Transport System.
