4.6.6.a: Source & Destination Id
This parameter is used to identify the field as either the source or destination of transferred
data. Its naming convention, however, will only allow a maximum of four characters. The
destination name must match the source name.
4.6.6.b: Transfer Type
This parameter refers to the data associated with the field/s to be transferred. The "Normal"
selection means that the data field is transferred as it has been entered (verbatim). The
"Name" selection means that first and last names are reversed when this option is selected.
4.6.6.c: Strip Spaces
This parameter designates whether spaces in the data are removed (stripped away) during
the data transfer.
4.6.7: Accept
The "Accept" parameter designates how data will be "accepted" by the field. Data is "Fixed",
"Variable", or from a "Host". (Refer to Figure 4-11.)
If the source is "Fixed", the exact text will be stored along with the layout in the unit. This text
is entered after the "Fixed Text" prompt during field creatation. Once stored, it can only be
changed by "editing" the layout.
If the choice is "Variable", the field can only be filled in using keyboard data entries at the time
of printing. However, the "Variable" fields are only temporarily stored in the system's RAM
and require new data be entered for each card.
If "Host" is chosen, the field is populated with data from a host computer connected to an
identified communication port. However, the host protocol (as well as other communication
settings) must be identified and set under the "Communication's" options prior to usage.
