4.2: Card Layout Considerations
Before attempting to create or edit a layout, decisions must be made as to what the finished
card will look like (formatting the card). Some considerations that should be considered are
listed below. However, this is not intended as an all inclusive list.

What specific fields will be used: Font, Barcode, Image, Encode, etc.?
•
What should the fields contain?
•
Where should the fields appear on the card?
•
What field length is allowed?
•
What is the minimum number of characters in a particular field?
•
Is the text to be fixed?
•
What field names are to be used?
•
What are the allowable characters: digits, alpha, all?
•
Is Mod 10 to be used?
•
Are there transfer fields: source or destination?
•
What is the barcode orientation?
•
What type of barcode is to be used?
•
Should the barcode be human readable?
•
Is data coming from a host?
•
What is to be used for card layout creation: Conquest Lite™ or the
resident firmware?
