4.3: Layout (Create & Edit) Sub-menus
The "Create" function menu is used to design a new card layout, while the "Edit" function
menu is used to modify an existing design. With exception of the first screen, selecting
either will bring up the exact same menu screens. (However, to select a layout for
immediate printing, it must be chosen from "File" under the Main Menu. See Figure 4-2.)
To access either of these preferences from the "File" sub-menu, highlight the desired function
with the cursor and press the [ENTER] key. A new screen will appear on the LCD Display as
shown in Figure 4-3.

4.4: File (Create & Edit) Commands - Type Selection
The list of Create and Edit commands varies with the initial selection made with the "TYPE"
field parameter. "Type" is the second screen of either the Create or Edit Commands and
identifies the kind of field being programmed. With this parameter, there are several options
to chose from: Font, Barcode, Encode, Image. Each of these selections have their own
unique set of defaults and alternative choices. Subsequent sub-menus or item selections
will change based on which choice is made.
Regardless of what item the user is addressing in the "Type" parameter, the first line will
remain the same. (Used for information, identification, and byte availability.)
The first line —"Field: 001 of 001 (NAME), FREE = 64481"— signifies that the user is
creating/editing the "first" character field "of" a "total amount" of one existing character fields,
of the "Layout Name" and 64,481 bytes of free RAM memory for layout manipulation. (This
number will decrease as fields, images and layouts are added.)
