D-40 Operation Manual
A better way to state this is:
(Current Field Number to Total Number of Fields) – (Assigned Layout Name) – (Free
Amount of Space Available for Programming.)
There can be several fields per line when laying out a card, however, only
NOTE:
one font type per field is allowed.
To make a selection, go to the menu screen with the "Type" parameter. The cursor will be
blinking under the current selection; e.g. the letter "F" in the word "Font". Parameter selection
of the "Type" field is done by using the "Left Arrow" key [<–] or "Right Arrow" key [–>], or
using the [SPACEBAR] to switch between multiple choice item options. After deciding on an
option, press the [ENTER] key.

4.5: Change to Next Field

To generate a new layout field for "Create" or "Edit", press the [SHIFT]+[INSERT] keys. The
top of the field screen will now show a numerical change and increase (example: "002 of 002"
and so on) each time the [SHIFT]+[INSERT] keys are pressed. (See Figure 4-4.)

To "Edit" an existing field, press the [PAGE UP] or [PAGE DOWN] keys to navigate through
the existing fields until the desired field is displayed.
If a field needs to be deleted, display the desired field and press the [SHIFT]+[DELETE]
keys. The field count of the screens will then change. An example of this is illustrated in
Figure 4-5. In this example, the field count has changed from "004 of 008" to "004 of 007". In
effect, the fifth field has now become the fourth field, while the screen total has been reduced
by one.
