Section 22: Starting Procedure

TARTING THE
NGINE
Step 1:
Place Cutter Engage/Throttle Lever in DISENGAGED/LOW RPM.
Step 2:
Place Upper Feed Control Bar in top STOP position.
Turn keyswitch to preheat/ON position.

110-HP Engine (Option): After white Preheat Indicator Light (1) turns
off, turn key fully clockwise to start the engine. Release key once the engine
starts.
120-HP Engine (Option): After the wait to start turns off in display panel
(1), turn key fully clockwise to start the engine. Release key once the
engine starts.
IMPORTANT: Never run the starter motor for more than 30 seconds at a time. Allow
starter motor to cool 1 minute between attempts.
Step 5:
Allow engine to warm up for 3–5 minutes before engaging the cutter.
IMPORTANT: Do not idle engine for more than 10 minutes. The resulting low
temperatures in the combustion chamber will not allow fuel to burn completely and
can cause engine damage.
