Before You Begin

Do — Keep connectors clean
— Extend sleeve or connector nut
— Use plastic end-caps during storage
Do — Inspect all connectors carefully
— Look for metal particles, scratches, and
dents
Do — Try compressed air first
— Use isopropyl alcohol
— Clean connector threads
Do — Clean and zero the gage before use
— Use the correct gage type
— Use correct end of calibration block
— Gage all connectors before first use

1. Cleaning connectors with alcohol shall only be done with the instrument's power cord removed, and
in a well-ventilated area. Allow all residual alcohol moisture to evaporate, and the fumes to dissipate
prior to energizing the instrument.
