Commissioning
I/O configuration
After the device description (XDD file) is added to an AS project, it is available only generically and must
be configured corresponding to the expansion of the CPX terminal.
Note
For each module type of the CPX terminal, the correct number of inputs and outputs
required for cyclical transmission can be activated.
• Activate the parameter "Cyclic transmission" for all module types of the CPX terminal,
as described subsequently.
– input module: "Read"
– output module: "Write".
If the status bits or I/O diagnostics interface is activated via DIL switch 2, the parameter
"Cyclic transmission" must be activated for these entries.
– status bits: "Read"
– I/O diagnostics interface: "Read" and "Write".
With technology modules, a distinction is made between 16 bit and 32 bit.
The specifications for each can be found in the manual of the technology module or,
alternatively, through the module characteristics of the CPX-FMT.
Procedure
1. Determine the number of required inputs and outputs of all modules (
2. In the Physical View in "Project Explorer", click with the right mouse key on the CPX terminal.
A function menu opens.
3. Select "Open I/O Configuration".
4. Expand the "Channels" entry in the "I/O Configuration" work book.
