3 Commissioning
Adding a CPX terminal to an AS project
After the generic device description file (XDD file) has been imported into Automation Studio, the CPX
terminal is available as an Ethernet POWERLINK device and can be added to an AS project.
Procedure
1. In the Physical View in "Project Explorer", click with the right-hand mouse key on the CPU icon and
select "Open POWERLINK".

2. In the menu, select "Insert" > "Module...".
3. In the dialogue "Select controller module"
under "POWERLINK Devices", select the entry "CPX-FB40 basic".

4. Confirm your selection with "Next".
