Possible cause/Suggested solution
Current imbalance can be caused by problems with the motor, the environment or the installation, such
Current imbalance

An SCR that has failed open circuit. A failed SCR can only be definitely diagnosed by replacing the SCR
and checking the starter's performance.

Internal fault (PCB fault). The output from the CT circuit is not close enough to zero when the SCRs are
turned off. Contact your local supplier for advice.

Reset the fault and then reload the default settings. If the problem persists, contact your local
distributor.

Field Trip
The mains frequency has gone beyond the specified range.
Frequency
Check for other equipment in the area that could be affecting the mains supply, particularly variable
speed drives and switch mode power supplies (SMPS).
If the MVE is connected to a generator set supply, the generator may be too small or could have a speed
regulation problem.

Ground current (monitored through a dedicated current transformer) has exceeded the selected level.
Ground fault
Test the insulation of the output cables and the motor. Identify and resolve the cause of any ground fault.
