3. If no other fault conditions are present, the following interrupt failures indicate
a component or connector failure.
You will have to swap out FRUs to determine which FRU contains the faulty
signal.

D.2.6
FRU Discovery Failures
The following faults are diagnosed during FRU discovery.
D.2.6.1
Signal Failure
MSGID IOXSCF-8000-35 fault.chassis.iox.device.signal
Possible Cause
There is a signal failure in an I/O boat or chassis.
■
Resolution
1. The following FMRIs indicate failure of boat presence signal:
■
■
The fan controller on the centerplane did not detect presence of an I/O boat. Try
the I/O boat in an alternate bay to see if the problem follows the I/O boat and/or
try the I/O boat in a chassis that you know is working and valid to determine the
location of the failure.
hc:///iox=box_instance/iob=x
This indicates a DEMUX port interrupt failure. The signal spans the chassis and
the I/O boat. Swap the I/O boat and/or chassis to determine the location of the
failure.
hc:///iox=box_instance/iob=x/link=0
This indicates a failure between the interrupt concentrator in the I/O boat and
the microcontroller in the link card. Swap the link card and/or the I/O boat to
determine the location of the failure.
hc:///chassis=0/iou=x/pcislot=y/link=0
This indicates a failure between the link card and the host PCI Express slot.
Swap link cards and/or try a different host PCI Express slot to determine the
location of the failure.
hc:///iox=box_instance/boat_pres=x
hc:///iox=box_instance/iob=x/pres_sig=0
