Management Bus Failures

A low-speed serial bus known as the management bus is used to send and receive

C commands to devices in the External I/O Expansion Unit. The bus uses side-
band signals in the PCI Express cable and consists of a pair of link cards and the
cable.
If there is a failure in the management bus, the system will not be able to discover
FRUs, gather environmental readings, or process alarm conditions and hardware
state-changes for the devices accessed through the management bus.
Possible Causes
The Bridge Controller is timing out.

The link cable has failed or is unplugged.

If this step corrects the problem, you do not have to do anything more to
resolve this issue.
If this step does not correct the problem, and an empty slot is available in the
server IOU, go to
