2. Replace the link cable.
3. Replace the link card in the I/O boat.
4. Replace the link card in the host.

Cable Removed or Power Loss
MSGID IOXSCF-8000-84 fault.chassis.iox.device.missing
The service processor detects loss of both the management bus and PCI Express data
path to an External I/O Expansion Unit. This failure occurs only if the host was
already managing External I/O Expansion Unit. See
Failures" on page D-15
Possible Causes
The PCI Express cable is unplugged.

There is a loss of input power to the External I/O Expansion Unit.
■
The I/O boat was removed while in use.
■
The cable is faulty.
■
The link card in the host is faulty.
■
The link card in the I/O boat is faulty.
■
Resolution
1. Check the cable connection.
If cable had been unplugged, make sure the link cables are reconnected correctly.
2. Check input power to the External I/O Expansion Unit.
3. Try a different cable to determine if a similar failure occurs.
