The DB1 variable frequency drives are electrical devices for controlling vari-
able speed drives with three-phase motors. They are designed for installation
in machines or for use in combination with other components within a
machine or system.
The DB1 variable frequency drives are not domestic appliances. They are
designed only for industrial use as system components.
If the variable frequency drive is installed in a machine, it is prohibited to
commission it until it has been determined that the corresponding machine
meets the safety and protection requirements set forth in the Machinery
Directive 2006/42/EC (e.g., by complying with EN 60204). The user is respon-
sible for ensuring the machine application's compliance with EC Directives.
The CE labels applied to the DB1 variable frequency drives confirm that the
devices comply with the Low Voltage Directive (2014/35/EU), the Electro-
magnetic Compatibility (EMC) Directive (2014/30/EU), and the RoHS Direc-
tive (2011/65/EU) when the typical drive configuration is applied.
In the described system configurations, DB1 variable frequency drives are
suitable for use in public and non-public networks.
A DB1 variable frequency drive can only be connected to IT networks (net-
works without a ground potential link) under certain conditions, because filter
capacitors within the device connect the network to the ground potential
(housing).
With non-grounded networks, this can lead to hazardous situations or dam-
age to the device (insulation monitoring is required).
To the output (terminals U, V, W) of the DB1 variable frequency
drive you must not:
connect a voltage or capacitive loads (e.g. , phase compen-
sation capacitors)
connect multiple variable frequency drives in parallel
make a direct connection to the input (bypass).
Always observe the technical data and connection conditions!
For additional information, refer to the equipment rating plate of
the variable frequency drive and in the documentation.
Any other usage constitutes improper use.
