PowerXL DC1 Setup Troubleshooting
1) How do I default the drive parameters?
DC1 variable frequency drives can be restored to their default configuration by using the following button combination: ▲ +
▼ + Stop button. When using this combination, hold down the buttons for two seconds until "P-dEf" is shown on the display.
Press the
button to confirm.
2) I'm only seeing parameters P-1 through P-14, how do I access the remaining
parameters and where are the parameters listed in the manual?
To access the extended parameters, parameter P-14 needs to be set to a value of 101. The list of parameters in the 12/13
manual release is located in the manual under List of Parameters. (The full parameter list can be found in Appendix C start-
ing on page 6)
3) How do I start the drive from the keypad and use external analog sources for a
reference?
To enable an external reference while maintaining a keypad start you will need to change the Keypad/Terminal mode at
parameter P-12 to a value of 1 for forward only direction or a value of 2 for forward and reverse operation (reverse is acti-
vated by pressing the
key while viewing the keypad reference value
prior to starting the drive and the
reference is above 0.0 OR by pressing
while the drive is running and the frequency reference is above 0.0). With P-
12 set to 1 or 2 you then need to set P-15 to 4 to utilize the I/O terminals for an analog reference on AI1. This value at P-15
enables Terminal 2 (DIN 1) to be a Run Enable/Interlock, a jumper from T1 to T2 must be made to start from the keypad.
Also DIN3 is the selection point for reference, T1 needs to be jumped to this input to enable AI1 as the reference, left low
keypad will be the reference. The tables can be referenced in the manual in the List of Parameters or at the end of this doc-
ument (See Appendix B on page 5).
4) How do I start the drive from the I/O terminals and use the keypad for a reference?
To enable an external start or terminal mode start while maintaining the keypad as the reference the control mode at param-
eter P-12 will need to be set to a value of 1 or 2. Parameter P-31 needs to be set to a value of 2 for a minimum speed refer-
ence start (value at parameter P-02) or 3 for previous keypad reference start. Parameter P-15 changes the operation for
the terminal functions, this value would need to be changed if a reverse or interlock option is needed. The tables can be
referenced in the manual under the List of Parameters or at the end of this document (See Appendix B on page 5).
