The following figure shows the construction of a four-wire, screened motor
line (recommended specifications).

If additional assemblies (e.g., contactors, overload relays, motor chokes, and
terminals) are found in a motor feeder, the motor cable's shielding can be
interrupted close to these assemblies and connected to the mounting plate
(PES) in such a way that electrical contact is established across a large sur-
face area. Free or non-shielded connection cables should not be any longer
than about 300 mm (max. 500 mm).
