Disassembling the manual starter

1. Turn the sheave drum 1 clockwise until
the spiral spring is free.
NOTE:
9 Turn the sheave drum so that the notch on
the outer surface of the sheave drum faces
toward the manual starter handle.
9 Pass the starter rope 2 through the notch

2. Remove the bolt, drive plate 3, spring
4, drive pawl 5, spring 6, clip 7, cover
8 and collar 9.

The sheave drum can pop out. Hold the
sheave drum with your hand, then pull it
out.

3. Remove the sheave 0 drum from the
manual starter case.

NOTE:
Insert a flat-head screwdriver into the hole b
in the sheave drum and push down on the
spiral spring so that it release from the
sheave drum.

The spiral spring can pop out. Cover the
spiral spring with cloths, then pull out the
sheave drum.
4. Remove the spiral spring q from the
manual starter case.

The spiral spring can pop out. To remove
the spring, cover it with cloths.
5. Remove the starter rope w.
