Checking the CDI unit

1. Measure the CDI unit output peak volt-
age. If below specification, measure the
pulser coil output peak voltage. Replace
the CDI unit if the output peak voltage of
the pulser coil is above specification.
Digital circuit tester: 90890-3174
Peak voltage adaptor B:
90890-03172
CDI unit output peak voltage:
Black and White (B/W)-Ground (B)

DC V 100
NOTE:
Remove the all spark plug caps, set the
engine start switch to "ON" position and
install the engine stop lanyard switch clip,
when measure the CDI unit peak voltage at
the clanking to use the manual starter. (WHD)
