a. Enabled—Enables NVDIMM-N functionality, including backing up the contents of the memory to flash
when you power down or reset the server.
b. Disabled—Disables NVDIMM-N functionality. NVDIMM-Ns are not presented to the operating system
as either persistent storage or system memory.
3. Press F10.
NVDIMM-N Memory Interleaving
Use this option to enable NVDIMM-Ns that are installed on a particular processor to be interleaved with other
NVDIMM-Ns in the memory map. When enabled, this option does not impact the interleaving of regular
DIMMs. When enabled, interleaving is not enabled across NVDIMM-Ns and regular DIMMs, and NVDIMM-Ns
installed on different processors are not interleaved together. When you change this setting, then you must
sanitize all installed NVDIMM-Ns so that an error condition is not reported on the next boot, and the NVDIMM-
Ns are not available for use.
Enabling or disabling NVDIMM-N Memory Interleaving
Prerequisite
Channel Interleaving is enabled.
Procedure
1. From the System Utilities screen, select System Configuration > BIOS/Platform Configuration
(RBSU) > System Options > Memory Operations > NVDIMM Memory Options > NVDIMM-N Memory
Interleaving and press Enter.
2. Select a setting and press Enter.
a. Enabled—Enables NVDIMM-N interleaving.
b. Disabled—Disables NVDIMM-N interleaving.
3. Press F10.
4. Sanitize the NVDIMMs.
NVDIMM-N Backup Power Policy
Use this option to set whether the system waits during system boot for the HPE Smart Storage Battery to
charge if sufficient battery backup power for the installed NVDIMM-Ns is not available. The default setting is
to wait. When this option is configured for Continue Boot without Backup Power, the server boots even if
sufficient battery backup power is not available. In this case, the system might not present the installed
NVDIMM-Ns to the operating system as persistent storage or system memory.
