VERBose
Description
This command sets and queries the Verbose state that controls the length of keywords on query
responses. Keywords can be both headers and arguments. This command does not affect IEEE Std
488.2-1987 Common Commands (those starting with an asterisk).

Syntax
VERBose {OFF|ON|<NR1>}
Arguments
• OFF
This sets the Verbose State to true, which returns full-length keywords for applicable setting queries.
• ON
This sets the Verbose State to false, which returns minimum-length keywords for applicable setting
queries.
• <NR1>
A 0 returns minimum-length keywords for applicable setting queries; any other value returns full-length
keywords.
Example 1
VERBose ON
This command enables the Verbose setting.
Example 2
VERBOSE?
This query might return
:VERBOSE 0
300
, indicating that the Verbose state is disabled.
