Circuit Breaker
The Circuit-breaker function block in the SIPROTEC 5 device represents the physical switch device. The task of
the circuit breaker is to replicate the switch position from the status of the binary inputs.

If you select the General soft-
ware filter setting, the general
settings for software filtering of
spontaneous position changes and
for position changes caused by a
switching command apply. By
selecting Spontaneous soft-
ware filter, a separate filtering
is activated for spontaneous posi-
tion changes.
Software filtering time for sponta-
